KSP Announces Testing for Cadet Troopers Anyone interested should visit kentuckystatepolice.org/recruitment to download the application. By Sergeant Mike Murriell Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky State Police is testing for Cadet Class #98, which is scheduled to begin in May of 2019 for the top 90 candidates. To be eligible, applicants must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and three years of full-time work experience or 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university. Eligibility can also be met as a high school graduate with at least two years of active military duty or two years of experience as a full-time, sworn law enforcement officer. Cadets can now earn an Associate's Degree while training at the academy. Applicants will need to submit a copy of their birth certificate, driver's license and high school diploma. Deadline for the May 2019 cadet class is October 8, 2018. There is also a study guide and physical testing chart available on the website to help applicants prepare.
