Tennesseans face allegations of shoplifting at Columbia Walmart

Both arrested Wednesday morning, September 12, 2018, on Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY

COLUMBIA, KY (Wed 12 Sep 2018) An early morning shoplifting complaint led to two arrests in Adair County.



28 year old Mark Higgason and 27 year old Kera Elrod, of Tennessee, were both arrested Wednesday morning after an Adair County deputy spotted a vehicle on Burkesville Road, matching the description of a vehicle that had fled from Walmart in Columbia after stealing several items.

A traffic stop was conducted and several stolen items were found in the vehicle.

Higgason was arrested and charged with
Theft by unlawful taking under $500.00 and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
Passenger Kara Elrod was arrested on charges of
Theft by unlawful taking under $500.00, possession of Marijuana, and two outstanding Barren County warrants.
Both were lodged in the Adair County Jail.
