Driver says she fell asleep before crash, ACSO reports

And Casey County 22-year-old faces DUI, other allegations. ACSO preliminary report finds that driver was southwest bound on Liberty Road/KY 206, approximately 5 miles east of Columbia when she left the road, and overturned in a ditch. She was transported to TJ Health/Columbia, KY, for treatment of injuries.
Note: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. An individual placed under arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

Adair county Sheriff Harrison Moss reports that on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at approximately 2:10pmCT Deputy Josh Durbin responded to a single vehicle injury accident around five miles up Liberty Road.



Preliminary Investigation by Deputy Durbin on the scene determined that 22-year-old Shelbie Thompson of Casey County was driving south bound on Liberty Road when she stated she fell asleep and drove off the left side of the Road, overturning in a ditch.

Thompson was transported by private means to TJ Heath/Columbia for treatment of injuries. Deputy Durbin cited Thompson to court for
DUI, No Insurance and Failure to notify address change to the Dept of transportation.
Deputy Durbin was assisted on the scene by Sheriff Moss and Adair county EMS.
