No. 1 Lindsey Wilson Volleyball defeats Union, Texas Wesleyan

Wins At Mid-South Challenge on Fri 24 Aug 2018 bring season record to 4-0.

Today, Saturday, August 25, 2018. Blue Raider Volleyball has two matches - At 12pmNoonCT, Lindsey Wilson meets Reinhardt (GA) and closes out the MSC Challenge against No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan at 4pmCT. Both games at Ephram White Gymnasium, 85 Mt. Olivet Road, Bowling Green, KY.

BOWLING GREEN, KY -- Top-ranked Lindsey Wilson won a pair of matches today in the Mid-South Conference Challenge at Ephram White Gymnasium, 85 Mt. Olivet Road, Bowling Green, KY.



Blue Raiders improve to 4-0 on the season. The Blue Raiders improve to 4-0 on the season with entirely different wins.

Lindsey Wilson swept Union (KY) 25-7, 25-11, 25-22 in its first match and came back from two sets down to beat Texas Wesleyan 18-25, 22-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-9 to close out its first day in Bowling Green.

Grace Blomstedt and Sarah Cruz led the Blue Raiders in the Union win with 10 and nine kills, respectively. Blomstedt finished the match posting a .467 attacking percentage while recording a solo block and four block assists in the match. Cruz hit .438 in the win with a pair of assisted blocks.

Abby Grubbs orchestrated the Lindsey Wilson offense with a team-high 24 assists. Paulina Sobolewska added a team-high 10 digs to go along with her seven kills.

Lindsey Wilson showed grit in its final match of the day with the win over Texas Wesleyan.

After dropping the first two sets, Cruz and Elly Burke propelled the Blue Raiders to the come-from-behind win with their masterful attack late in the match. Cruz crushed nine of her match-high 16 kills in the last two sets, while Burke added seven kills in the final two frames.

Cruz ended with a match-high .444 attack on a night when the Blue Raiders hit a season-low .219. Burke finished with 13 kills and a .312 attack.

Autumn Proctor posted a career-high 45 assists to lead the Lindsey Wilson offense while four Blue Raiders posted double-digit digs. Sobolewska recorded a double-double with a team-high 27 digs and 12 kills. Burke also posted a double-double with 12 digs.
