Jeffrey Daniel Murphy, 50, Taylor Co., KY (1968-2018)

He was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio, and a resident of Campbellsville, KY, at the time of his death. His wife, Cary Beth Pyles Murphy, survives, as does his parents. He leaves 10 direct living descendants. He earned his living as a truck driver and traveled this country with his wife, Mrs. Cary Beth. His passion, though, was in auto body repair, and he was exceptionally talented in that field. He also built and flew high-end RC cars and planes when he wasn't creating art or drawing. Mr. Murphy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Jeffrey Daniel Murphy of Campbellsville, KY, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY, after an unexpected illness.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Murphy on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Cremation will be accorded him after the service. Bro. Ottie Williams will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 9amCT/10amET, until time for the funeral.

He was born in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio on Monday, June 24, 1968. He died Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky at the age of 50 years, one month, and 28 days of age.

He earned his living as a truck driver and traveled this country with his wife, Mrs. Cary Beth Pyles Murphy. His passion, though, was in auto body repair, and he was exceptionally talented in that field. He also built and flew high-end RC cars and planes when he wasn't creating art or drawing. Mr. Murphy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

  • His mother and stepfather - Judith Diane (Sheets) and Ottie Williams of Peebles, Ohio

  • Four children - Rayven Murphy of Campbellsville, KY; Brock Murphy of Morehead, KY; Willie Broyles and wife Angie of Lebanon, KY; and Jimbo Broyles of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight siblings - Timothy Murphy and wife Autumn of Newcomerstown, Ohio; Kenneth Bryan Murphy and wife Joanna of New Boston, Ohio; Melissa Keeton of Ohio, Harold Leroy Murphy of Maryland, Kevin Murphy and wife Kimmy of Peebles, Ohio; Priscilla Carter of Wortland, Ohio; Salana Williams of Ohio, and Michelle Williams of Ohio

  • Six grandchildren

  • And a host of other family and friends
