P & Z Bd. of Assessment approves variance for 1130 Grady Loop Variance allows placement of a single wide manufactured housing unit on a lot previously permitting minimum double wide manufactured housing. Variance does not require City Council approval. Click on headline for complete story By Ed Waggener The City of Columbia Planning & Zoning Board of Assessment unanimously approved a request for a variance at 1130 Grady Loop, for property owned by Jeff Wooldridge now zoned to allow double wide mobile units on the lot. The variance will allow the placement of a single wide manufactured housing unit on the lot. The change was made in a meeting in City Hall, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, in the large police department facility on the second floor of the building, at 5pmCT, Monday, August 20, 2018, with Chairman Joe Flowers presiding, with all other members of the three member board, Billy Wheat and Mary Ann Loy, present, and Jada Coomer, the board's secretary, present as well. Also in attendance were Jeff Wooldridge, and a representative of the local media. The action does not need City Council approval, and, Chairman Flowers noted, any recourse on the decision would be in Circuit Court. Chairman Flowers said that it is his understanding that the variance is not transferable to a new owner of the property. Mr. Wooldridge said that he now owns the property with his son and has no plans to sell it No one appeared at the meeting to offer an opinion on the change, and Mr. Wooldridge stated that he had notified the neighboring property owners, Mike Hatcher, and Mike Newton (for Lindsey Wilson College) and they saw no problem with the change. Board member Billy Wheet said that the lot is surrounded by farmland and he saw no problem with the change. This story was posted on 2018-08-21 06:57:49
