Reminder: Hazardous Waste Disposal today, Sat 11 Aug 2018 Environmental Enterprises will conduct today's event Click on headline for complete reminder ~ also ~ POSTER By Deputy CJE Andrea Waggener & Bridget Compton, Executive Secretary Free disposal of household hazardous waste for Adair County residents will be held today, 8am-12pmCT, Saturday, August 11, 2018, at the Adair County Road Department, 62 Service Drive, Columbia, KY. Adair County has been awarded a PRIDE grant to fund the collection of household hazardous waste. With over 25 years experience in planning, collection and disposal Environmental Enterprises, Inc., will conduct Adair County's collection event. During the event, there will be assistance available to unload materials and participants will be asked to fill out a brief survey. Please be sure to have a driver's license or other form of identification which includes county of residence (address). It is the hope of the Fiscal Court that citizens will take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste collected from their homes that otherwise may have been managed improperly. Items such as solvents, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, cleaners, and other hazardous household items will be accepted. Only certain items will be collected and some restrictions apply. Please review the complete list of "household hazardous waste items" for more details. Adair County residents may dispose of latex and oil-based paint, as well as stains. It is helpful if the paint has been dried to a solid, but it is not necessary. Due to the cost of disposal, the household hazardous waste day is limited to Adair County residents and businesses are excluded. This story was posted on 2018-08-11 07:09:37
