Cotton attended Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and an auctioneer. He was a member of a large, respected Western Adair Co., KY family. He was the son of the late Arthur & Lula Mae Montgomery Sneed. He was the last of the generation of siblings born to Arthur & Lula Sneed. His wife, Flois Helen Compton Sneed survives.

James L. "Cotton" Sneed, 74, of Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 6:34pmCT, at his home.

Funeral service, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. B.J. Huff officiating. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery which surrounds Antioch United Methodist Church, 3422 Wheeler Hill Road, Sparksville Community of Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Friday, August 3, 2018, at the funeral home.

He was born Saturday, July 15, 1944, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Arthur & Lula Mae Montgomery Sneed. He died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 74 years, sixteen days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers and a sister; Carl and Chester Sneed, Lucille Baker.

Cotton attended Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran and an auctioneer.

Survivors include:
  • His wife - Flois Helen Compton Sneed of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
