ACSO deploys taser to end foot chase after vehicle pursuit Incident occurs just before midnight Sunday. After short vehicle pursuit, suspect exits vehicle and flees on foot. ACSO Deputy deploys taser, ending pursuit. 44-year-old Columbia man, arrested, now faces multiple allegations. Deputy Durbin is leading the investigation and was assisted by Deputy Keith. An individual placed under arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. From Adair County Sheriff's Office Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss reports that On July, 30 ,2018 at approximately 11:21pmCT Adair County Deputies Josh Durbin and Joey Keith attempted a traffic stop on Campbellsville Road on a 2002 Chevy. The vehicle failed to stop and fled a short distance down Liberty Road where the driver 44 year old Carlos Grant of Columbia got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit Deputy Durbin was able to deploy a taser ending the pursuit. Grant was arrested and charged with: Rear License not illuminated, fleeing or evading police-1st degree (motor vehicle), fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot) and operating on suspended/revoked operators License. Grant was also arrested on two warrants.Deputy Durbin is leading the investigation and was assisted by Deputy Keith. CPD Officer Drew Conn and Officer Johnny Dial with K-9 Gunner.
