Sheriff's report - Domestic call results in arrests Domestic incident on Harris Road. While 51-year-old was being placed under arrest, 72-year-old allegedly came out of residence, armed with a shotgun and fired handgun. Officers talk older man into dropping weapon, but say he would not comply with other commands, and was forcefully taken into custody. Note - A charge is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a subsequent court of law. Click on headline for complete story From Adair County Sheriff's Office Harrison Moss, Sheriff On July 30, 2018 at approximately 8:25pmCT Adair county Deputies Josh Durbin and Joey Keith were dispatched to a domestic incident at a residence on Harris Road. After an investigation Deputy Keith and Durbin were placing 51-year-old Darren Walters of Columbia under arrest for Assault-4th Degree Domestic Violence when 72 year old Arnold Walters of Columbia came out from the residence armed with a handgun and fired the handgun. Deputies were able to talk Arnold Walters into dropping the handgun, but Arnold Walters would not comply with any other commands. Deputies had to forcefully take Arnold Walters into custody and charged him with two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (police officer) and Resisting Arrest. Adair County Deputy Josh Durbin is leading the investigation and was assisted by Sheriff Harrison Moss, Officers with the Columbia Police Department, the Kentucky State Police, Adair County Constable Jason Rector, and Adair County EMS.
