Virginia (Kelsey) Hartman, Taylor County, KY (1947-2018)

April 30, 1947 ~ July 22, 2018 (Age 71)
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jehovah Jireh Ministries in Campbellsville and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed arts and crafts, camping, hiking and especially fishing, and her children considered her a super mom. She was a native of Tampa, FL, the daughter of the late Rupert & Alide (Cox) Kelsey, and was the widow of Frank Ellsworth Hartman. She leaves a very large family, including 29 children and great grandchildren, in addtion to a host of great great grandchildren to carry on her legacy.

Virginia K. Hartman, 71, departed this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Louisville, KY, at the Kindred at Jewish Hospital.

The funeral service for Virginia K. Hartman will be conducted Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 1pmCT/2pmET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Rev. Timothy Cooper and Rev. Rick Earley will be officiating. The family requests visitation after 10amCT/11amET on Thursday until time of service.

Virginia K. Hartman was the daughter of the Rupert & Alide (Cox) Kelsey. She was born Wednesday, April 30, 1947 in Tampa, FL, and departed this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 71 years, two months and 22 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jehovah Jireh Ministries in Campbellsville and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed arts and crafts, camping, hiking and especially fishing, and her children considered her a super mom.

She leaves to cherish her memory:
  • Nine children: Erlene Raye Robbins & husband William of Florida, Frank Thomas Hartman and wife Debbie of Greensburg, KY; Kenneth Patrick Hartman of Summersville, KY; Margaret Kathrine Ramirez of Florida, Virginia Gail Bell and husband Randall, II of Brooks, KY; Quinice Louise White and wife Jasmine of Colorado, Bessie Roseanne Hernandez and husband Dominic of Campbellsville, KY; Charles Keith Hartman of Virginia, and Joseph Fredrick Hartman of Campbellsville,

  • Twenty grandchildren

  • A host of great grandchildren

  • And other relatives and friends, including her dog: JJ.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Frank Ellsworth Hartman; a brother, Edward Kelsey; a sister, Elizabeth K. Donaldson; a grandchild, and numerous step-children.
