Kayaking is among the best things for mind, body and soul

By Mitzi Bault

A group of nine Adair Countians and a dog had a wonderful time kayaking on the Green River in Green County on July 19, 2018.

Our put in was at the end of the Ralph Vaughn Road. We paddled to our take out at the Green County Kayaking Park.

Kayaking is one of the best things for your mind, body and soul.

We have met families with a small child in the kayaks on their mother's or father's lap, and families with each child in their own kayaks.

Remember that you must have a life jacket on your kayak, and ages 16 and younger must actually be wearing a life jacket.

Some State Parks require that every one must have a life jacket on.

Before anyone goes out on the water, check the weather.

Go to Louisville District Daily Lake Report to make sure the weather will be cooperating during your outing.

Nine humans and one dog enjoyed a day of Kayaking - it is recommended by Kayaker Mitzi Bault as one of the best things to do for mind, body and soul. In no particular order, the party includes Jim & Sara Sproles, Greg Willis, Robin Curry, Mr. & Mrs Simpson & their dog, and Sharon Sroka. We put in at Ralph Vaughn Road and paddled down to the Green County Paddling Park. Mitzi Bault
