Bill Sublett and Donald Colvin went to work this week to make the show barn at Homeplace more comfortable for Saturday's performance of Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona. They have added two large windows on the back side of the barn which will significantly improve air circulation. (Accompanying/linked photo). The play is part of the cooperation between Homeplace and Lindsey Wilson College' theater program led by the college's Director of Theater Robert Brock.

Director Robert Brock has adapted The Two Gentlemen of Verona to a Western Setting, making the Shakespeare in the Barn presentation all the more appropriate in the rustic setting.

Brock designed the new stage in the barn and this Saturday's performance is the second play performed at Homeplace this summer.

The first, Smoke on the Mountain, drew a crowd of 118 for the play and fish dinner preceding it.

There will also be a fish dinner before Saturday's show.

The show's cast includes Lindsey Wilson students and faculty and local residents, according to Thomas Alvey: "Directed by Artistic Director of TheatreFest!, Robert Brock with Jeremy Cloyd of Tompkinsville, KY, Tyler Harting of Monticello, Gretchen Miles of Columbia, Chelsea Pike of Campbellsville, Taylor Boortz of Russell Springs, Rachael Miller of Cynthiana, Wade Daffron of Jamestown, Luke Westmoreland of Greensburg, JulieAnne Cox of Franklin, Sharon Archey of Columbia, David Goguen of Columbia, and Thomas Alvey of Brownsville, KY.

There are seats remaining and you can make reservations by calling Phil Hanna at 270-384-2894 or emailing him at cphanna51@msn.com. Tickets are $20 for the play and dinner or just $10 for the show only. The dinner will be served beginning at 5pmCT/6pmET and the performance begins at 6pmCT/7pmET.
