Barry Dowell, 51, Adair County, KY (1966-2018)

He was a member of the Columbia Union Presbyterian Church and was employed by Bruss North America in Russell Springs. Barry enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. He was member of a beloved Columbia family, the son of Betty Hoover Dowell, who survives, and the late Linzie Dowell. He was one of four siblings born to that union, with his death, two survive, sister Donna Stotts and Larry Dowell, both of Columbia, KY. His final resting place will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, in his native Adair County, KY>

Barry Dowell, 51 of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:50pmCT, at the Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs, KY after several months illness.

The family requests visiting from 4pmCT until 8pmCT Friday, July 13, 2018, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Private services will be held later. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



Barry Dowell, 51, Adair County, KY (1966-2018)

He was born September 24, 1966 in Columbia, Adair County, KY. He was the son of Betty Hoover Dowell, who survives, and the late Linzie Dowell. He died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 51 years, nine months, and 16 days. In addition to his father, Linzie Dowell, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Carol Dowell, in 1960. He is survived by his mother, Betty Hoover Dowell of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One brother: Larry Dowell of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Donna Stotts and husband Delano of Columbia, KY

  • Two nephews: Patrick Stotts of Jamestown, KY and Adrian Stotts of Columbia, KY

  • Special great nephews and nieces; Evan and Trip Stotts, Kallie, Laney and Miley Stotts.

  • His special friend and pet: Jackson Barry
He was a member of the Columbia Union Presbyterian Church and was employed by Bruss North America in Russell Springs. Barry enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.
