It was a perfect day for kayaking on the Green River With water running slowly, on a perfect weekend day, it was a good day for a paddle in Green County Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Mitzi Bault Saturday, July 7, 2018 was a beautiful day for a paddle in Green County on the mighty Green River. Robyn Curry, Linda Helm Kelly and I had a wonderful day. Robyn Burton Curry introduced me to kayaking around two years ago. I just fell in love. I have always loved being on the water. As a young girl my Daddy L. G. (Peanut) McKinley and my little Momma Fay Waggener McKinley took our family to spend lots of time on Lake Cumberland and Green River camping and fishing. My momma would have the boat ready to go when Daddy would get off work -- lot’s of great memories. The water was running a little slow today and it made for a most wonderful peaceful, lazy paddle.
