Columbia Police respond to injury accident on Jamestown Hill Police believe driver fatigue was factor in accident in the early morning hours of July 4, 2018. Driver loses control of vehicle, strikes parked car in parking lot of Franklin Nissan. Durango turns on side, slides down roadway, strikes two more Franklin Nissan vehicles, and debris from impact damages a fourth car in the dealer inventory. Driver treated on the scene and transported to TJ Health/Columbia. Ofc. Drew Conn, who observed the incident, is continuing the investigation Click on headline for complete story By Ofc Josh Brockman Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief Jason Cross On July 4, 2018 at 02:01amCT, Columbia Police Officer Drew Conn observed an auto collision happen in front of him while on patrol. The incident occurred when 16 year old Shawn Harrison of Columbia was operating a 2003 Dodge Durango north on Jamestown street. Harrison lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Franklin Nissan. The vehicle then turned on its side, slid down roadway and struck two more vehicles parked on the lot. All three vehicles were owned by dealership. Debris from the collision damaged a fourth vehicle on lot also owned by Franklin. Harrison was treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to TJ Health of Columbia. CPD Officer Drew Conn is continuing investigation. At this time, it is believed driver fatigue is a contributing factor.
