Columbia PD/Adair Co. SO recover stolen car, arrest suspect Update/Correction at 8:28pmCT, Tuesday, July 3, 2018: from Josh Brockman, Columbia Police Department: Name should be Larry Taylor, not Larry Thomas. - Josh Brockman Joint Columbia Police Department and Adair County Sheriff's Office operation locates allegedly stolen vehicle, suspect in Creek View Mobile Home Park. Law enforcement says 37-year-old suspect found hiding in a closet of a mobile home there, along with illegal drug items. Suspect arrested on outstanding warrants of arrest including one from Probation and Parole. Officer Josh Brockman and Adair County Deputy Brandon Hitch will present cases to Adair County Grand Jury seeking incdictments on auto theft case and drug charges. They were assisted at scene by Officer Jamie Cole, Sheriff Harrison Moss and Ofc Josh Brockman. Click on headline for complete story Note - A charge is merely an accusation. By Ofc Josh Brockman, Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief Jason Cross CPD Ofc Kevin Atwood & ACSO Deputy Brandon Hitch responded to a call at approximately 3:18pmCT, Tuesday, July 3, 2018, that a vehicle that Columbia Police was looking for was in the Creek View Mobile Home Park. Upon their arrival a 2010 Mazda 6 car was located, which had been reported stolen from West Page Street, Columbia, KY, to Officer Josh Brockman on Sunday, June 24, 2018. A suspect in the theft, Larry Taylor, age 38, of Adair County had been developed by Officer Brockman and a search of the area resulted in Taylor being located hiding in a closet of a mobile home. Deputy Brandon Hitch found Taylor to be in possession of Methamphetamine, scales, cash, and a loaded firearm. Taylor is a convicted felon and it is illegal for him to possess any firearm. Taylor was also served with four outstanding warrants of arrest including one from Probation and Parole. Taylor was lodged on the Adair County Regional Jail by Deputy Brandon Hitch on the warrants. Officer Brockman and Adair County Deputy Hitch will present their cases to the Adair County Grand Jury seeking indictments on the auto theft and drug charges . Ofc.
