Mabel Chumbley Minton, 94, Russell Co., KY (1924-2018)


She was a homemaker and a member of Jennie's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a native of Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Cassie (Stephens) Chumbley and the late Cornelious Chumbley and the widow of Leslie Minton. She leaves 27 direct living descendants, spanning four generations. Her final resting place will be in Jennie's Chapel Cemetery, Windsor, KY

Mabel (Chumbley) Minton, 94 of Windsor, KY passed away Thursday June 28, 2018 at Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT, Monday July 02, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Shannon Cain officiating. Interment will be in the Jennie's Chapel Cemetery, Merritt Ridge Road, Windsor, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT, Sunday July 01, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born on Monday February 25, 1924 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Cassie (Stephens) Chumbley and the late Cornelious Chumbley. She died Thursday, June 28, 2018, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 94 years, four months, and four days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Jennie's Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by:
  • Two daughters; Janice Roberts and Barbara Joann Condra, both of Windsor, KY

  • One son: Dale Minton, Jamestown, KY

  • A special niece, Polly Rathbun, Windsor, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Sheila Luttrell, Anthony Roberts, Alan Roberts, Kendra Cape, Kevin Roberts and Ben Lutz

  • Eleven great-grandchildren

  • Seven great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Minton, and a daughter, Opal Minton.
