J.O.Y. Ministries holding free summer camps for kids

From Maggie Coleman and Krystal Cundiff

As we head into summer we have the opportunity to run summer camps for elementary, middle/high school students.

These students will be learning about healthy lifestyle habits, life skills, academic content, team building and that they are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe!

We are so thankful to have loving, caring educators that are willing to give us a portion of their summer to help us care for these students. We are so excited about having more opportunities to serve young people as this is what started our ministry and ultimately where our hearts will probably forever be!

We believe that the best cure for many of the problems around us is by breaking the cycle for the future generation and this means education, positive relations and Jesus! Pray for the young people of our community that we can all come together to provide more opportunities for them to make our world a better place.

We are also looking forward to our 7th mission week!! We can’t wait to see what God is going to do through and to these young people as they serve in our community.

We absolutely love seeing young people from various denominations across our community come together to love, serve and worship together for a week! We look forward to watching the young people that have served with us over the years raise up and be crew leaders, bring messages, lead worship and various activities throughout the week.

It is such a blessing to watch them as they become disciples and accept the gifts each one of them have been given by God! Pray that summer #7 is the best summer ever!!

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. ~ 1 Peter 4:10

JOY Ministries has provided two weeks of camp this summer to allow students to have options on free camps. They have done a lot of team building activities, STEM lessons, home cooked meals, devotions, toured LWC and Green River to hike and picnic. Pictured from left are elementary school students Crystal Mendoza, Peter Mendoza, Emma Burton, Maddie Streeval, JJ Jones, Cassie Cramer, Marli Smith, Javion Momanyi and Isaac Hawkins. We had a couple more students through the week but did not attend this trip. Middle and High School students are next. This was a great week. - Krystal Cundiff
