Some good advice from Maury Lewis: Visit Trabue Russell House

Maury Lewis writes to ColumbiaMagazine.com:
You or Linda one need to go and take some pictures of the garden at the Trabue-House before it rains again. Everything is blooming. I just left it. The flowers beside the chimney will be in bloom this week end or next week. - Maury
Thanks, Maury - We went Monday in time for some magic afternoon moments at the Trabue-Russell House - 201 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY - and the Garden Club's work is already worth anybody's time. We got pictures, including the first one attached to this note, "Everything's coming up roses in the TRH rose garden," in the Julia Miller Horton Rose Garden, which should tease others to watch for the announced Grand Openings predicted within it. - EW

Time travel back-in-time is a lunch hour walk from the campus or the office at the Trabue-Russell House. If you visit, if you have an event, a wedding, a luncheon, enjoy a picnic here, or just walk the grounds, please let others know - especially the members of the Adair County Garden Club - your reactions. If you share the information and/or photo(s) with our readers, that will be great. Our thanks to Maury Lewis for the tip to see TRH now. - EW

TRH - a peek over Modernity, peeks back in time

2018-05-22 - Trabue-Russell House - TRH -201 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Flowers along the wrought iron fence, which once stood in front of a United States House of Representatives member on Burkesville Street in Columbia, offers peaks for the mostly well-behaved traffic on Jamestown Hill to other loved and historic homes along the way. The gable at top right is Hare House, the home of Joe & Della Hare. Just to the left, Stevenson House, as well as Praise Assembly of God. Maury Lewis told us this would be spectacular, and it was. - EW
