Doris Montgomery, 88, Adair County, KY (1929-2018)

She was known as one of Columbia's most loving people who gave of herself in service to others all her life. Her family gave this statement, "She will live forever in all of us and we will forever feel her love."

Doris Montgomery, 88, of Columbia, Kentucky, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and caregivers on Friday, May 18, 2018.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with burial in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation after 10amCT Tuesday until the service begins.



Doris Montgomery, 88, Adair County, KY (1929-2018)

She was born September 7, 1929, in Green County, KY to the late Bayard and Mary Blaydes Antle. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and caregivers on Friday, May 18, 2018.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, J.C. Montgomery in 1999. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • One son - Tim Montgomery and his wife, Karen, of Columbia

  • Three daughters - Sue Montgomery of Columbia, Mary Ann Bellamy and her husband, Mike, of Park City, KY, and Kimberly Boyd of Columbia

  • Four grandchildren - Eric Schorman of Columbia, Brandon Bellamy of Park City, Ashley Frieburg and her husband, Mike, of Franklin, TN, Tina Owens and her husband, Henry, of Liberty, KY

  • Eight great-grandchildren - Annabelle Bellamy, Caroline Frieburg, Kate Lynn and Jayden Schorman, Kaleb Dial, Josiah and Zhanyta Thurman and Molly Owens

  • One brother - Charles Antle of State College, PA

  • Two sisters-in-law - Phyllis Reese of Russell Springs, Dorothy Nell VanArsdale of Columbia

  • Several nieces, nephews and special caregivers, Becca Hall and Amanda Jessie

  • Her family gave this statement, "She will live forever in all of us and we will forever feel her love."
