Lind finishes 20th at NAIA Men's Golf Championship By Charlie Balcom Silvis, IL - Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Rasmus Broholt Lind shot a 4-over par 75 during the final day of competition on Friday at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship held at TPC Deere Run. He finishes the event with a four-day total 287 (69-72-71-75) in a tie for 20th place at 3-over par for the tournament. It is Lind's best collegiate finish at the national championship after missing out on the cut by one stroke at least year's national championship event as a freshman. Lind had a promising start to his final round after moving to 2-under through the first eight holes at the par-71, 7,066-yard course. But a costly five-hole run caused him to drop six strokes and slip back to 4-over par. He birdied the par-4 fourth and the par-4 eighth to help move to 2-under for the round, but then went bogey-bogey-double bogey-bogey-bogey on his next five holes to fall back to 4-over par. The double bogey came on the par-4 11th, his lone double bogey of the entire 72-hole tournament. He put the run of bad holes to an end with a birdie on the par-4 14th, but gave that stroke up with another bogey on the 17th before finishing with his ninth par on the day on the 18th. Lind finished the tournament with a 2-under score for the par-4s, the fourth lowest of any competitor at the tournament. Dalton State's (Ga.) S.M. Lee captured the individual national title with a score of 12-under, while Oklahoma City won the team national championship by 13 strokes. This story was posted on 2018-05-18 18:49:38
