NAIA Softball National title Opening Round in Columbia again

It marks the sixth season in a row Lindsey Wilson has served as an Opening Round host institution. Tournament will be 14-16 May 2018, at Marilyn D. Sparks Park, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY.

COLUMBIA, KY - (Tue 8 May 2018) The NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round pairings were released on Tuesday evening by the national office.

Lindsey Wilson earned the No. 2 seed in the Columbia (KY) Bracket and will host No. 1 seed Vanguard (CA), third-seeded Freed-Hardeman (TN) and fourth-seeded Saint Xavier (IL).



The double-elimination Opening Round bracket of games is set to be played May 14-16, 2018, at Marilyn D. Sparks Park, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KKY

It marks the sixth season in a row Lindsey Wilson has served as an Opening Round host institution. The Blue Raiders are 11-6 in the Opening Round and have won Opening Round titles in 2014 and 2015.

Forty total teams will participate in the Opening Round brackets across 10 institutions with the winner of each tournament advancing to the 38th annual NAIA Softball World Series, a 10-team double elimination bracket set to be played May 25-31, 2018, at Legends Way Ball Field in Clermont, Florida.
