Historical marker restored, celebrated on Adair Courthouse lawn By Linda Waggener, lifetime member Adair Heritage Association The Adair Heritage Association (AHA) adopted artist Ed Vincent who has shown the ability to meticulously restore fading, weathered historical markers. Today the most recent one documenting Confederate Raids here was unveiled on the historic Adair County Courthouse lawn, Burkesville Street side. Vincent was joined in celebration of his work today by Ellen Zornes; Richard Phelps, Susan Loy, Jane Grant, Andrea Waggener; Pam Hoots, and Linda Waggener. He also provided elan and sparkling (non-alcoholic) apple cider for the unveiling event after the marker was restored. Since he moved to this area and joined the "Band of Brothers" who go about serving others, one of his first projects was the restoration of the historical marker on Jamestown Street beside Columbia's historic Trabue Russell House. After people saw the dramatic results, his skills are now in high demand - he has requests to do markers in Hardin County and Barren County, then the AHA members hope he can return to the others in need in downtown Columbia.
