Alliant Technologies adding 30 jobs in nearby Glasgow, KY Gov. Matt Bevin today announced Alliant Technologies LLC, an electrical and software engineering company, will invest nearly $1.19 million in Glasgow to establish a 30-job electrical panel fabrication facility. "We are grateful for this new location from Alliant Technologies, a company founded right here in Kentucky 13 years ago," Gov. Bevin said. "As workforce issues continue to create challenges for companies across the nation, Alliant has been a model for how to succeed in an automated world while simultaneously providing Kentuckians with quality jobs. This new facility will benefit families in Barren County for years to come, and we look forward to following the company's continued growth." Alliant's new operation will locate in 21,000 square feet of an existing facility on Sorensen Drive in Glasgow. The factory will manufacture electrical and control panels to help the company enter new markets and meet increased customer demand. The operation will double the company's production capacity. "We are growing at an aggressive rate, opening offices in Texas and California," said Lee Seward, president of Alliant. "We are proud of our roots in Kentucky, where we are headquartered and excited to locate our second panel fabrication facility in Glasgow." Alliant was established in Louisville in 2005 as an electrical and software engineering company with an electrical panel fabrication shop. Increased parcel-handling automation, modernization and growth among Alliant's customers, including UPS, Amazon and other major logistics companies, helped grow the company from 20 employees to more than 100. Sen. David Givens, of Greensburg, welcomed the company to Glasgow. "This is an important investment for Glasgow and Barren County," Rep. Riley said. "With over $1 million invested and the creation of 30 new jobs, Alliant will no doubt improve and diversify the town's economy for years to come." Glasgow Mayor Dick Doty said Alliant has the makeup of a company that could thrive well into the future. "With this current workforce shortage plaguing not only Kentucky, but also the country, it is exciting to partner with a company that is on the leading edge of addressing the growing need for automation," Mayor Doty said. "We are so pleased that Alliant Technologies has decided to expand its operations into Glasgow/Barren County. One of the great beauties of this investment is that the resulting jobs are coveted high-tech jobs that provide attractive careers within our community. We congratulate Alliant on their announcement and we appreciate the opportunities they will bring to our citizens. We would like to thank Gov. Bevin and his staff from the Cabinet for Economic Development for their hard work and support in making this announcement a reality." Barren County Judge-Executive Micheal Hale said the community looks forward to working closely with the company. "Barren County welcomes Alliant Technologies to our industrial community," Judge-Executive Hale said. To encourage the investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) in March preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $275,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the agreement term through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets. Alliant also can receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network. Through the Kentucky Skills Network, companies can receive no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job training incentives. In fiscal year 2017, the Kentucky Skills Network provided training for more than 120,000 Kentuckians and 5,700 companies from a variety of industry sectors. See website: Alliant Technologies.com .
