Click on headline for complete story By Lisa Greer, Adair County Court Clerk The following article details rules on voting by Absentee Mail-in Ballots, voting on Absentee Voting Machines in the County Court Clerk's office, starting May 1, 2018; and special rules prohibiting electioneering while the absentee voting by machine is being conducted in the courthouse. Mail-in Absentee Ballots: May be requested at any time. The following voters may apply to cast their votes by MAIL-IN absentee ballot if the application is received not later than the close of business hours seven (7) days before the elections of May 22, 2018. The application has to be in house by the close of the business day, which is 4pmCT, on May 15, 2018 to receive your ballot. Therefore, please request your absentee in time to have the application before the deadline.
Absentee voting on machines. Machines open Mon 1 May 2018: Absentee Machines will be opened Monday, May 1, 2018 at 9amCT until 4pmCT. After Monday the machines will be opened Monday-Friday 8am-4pmCT and on Saturdays 8am-12pmNoonCT.. Machines will be opened until Monday, May 21, 2018, at 4pmCT. Location of machine will be in the Adair County Clerks Lisa Greer Office, 424 Public Square, Columbia KY 42728 The following voters may, at any time during normal business hours on those days absentee voting is conducted in the County Clerk's Office, make application in person to the county clerk to vote on a voting machine in the county clerk's office:
Election Officials: Electioneering Ban During Absentee Voting The electioneering ban during absentee voting applies to the building, on days in which absentee voting is being conducted and prohibits election materials to be affixed to the interior and exterior of the building. No person shall electioneer within the interior of a building or affix any electioneering materials to the exterior or interior of a building where the county clerk's office is located.
