Lindsey Baseball travels to CU Friday, Saturday

The Lindsey Wilson baseball team travels to Campbellsville, Kentucky on Friday and Saturday to take on No. 21 Campbellsville (KY) for a Mid-South Conference three game series at HIG Baseball Field, 201 Spring Street, Campbellsville, KY. The series kicks off on Friday, April 20, 2018 with a single game at 4pmCT/5pmET, and concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 21, 2018, beginning at 2pmCT/3pmET.


The Lindsey Wilson baseball team (21-21, 7-4 MSC) last lost in a single game against Indiana Southeast 5-4 on the road Wednesday. Alec Salcedo led the Blue Raiders with three hits and three RBIs as four other Blue Raiders added one hit in the game. The Blue Raiders outhit the Indiana Southeast 7-5 but couldn't push enough runs across the plate to pick up the win.

Tyler Russell has recorded seven wins this season on the bump adding 54 strikeouts and a 4.12 ERA. Ricky Winfield has pitched 12 games for LWC going 62.1 innings adding a team-leading 55 strikeouts and a 2.02 ERA. Kelvin Guzman has added 49 strikeouts over 37.2 innings of work. Oliver Baez and has recorded a team-high 47 hits. Steven Calderon has added 46 hits as he has added a team-leading .346 batting average and a .449 on base percentage.

Campbellsville (28-13, 7-2 MSC) comes into the game having won four of their last five but suffered a loss to No. 23 Tennessee Wesleyan 3-1 their last time out. The Tigers have outscored their opponents 265-155 this season.

Mathew Valdez leads the team with 55 hits and holds a .357 batting average as Logan Robers has added 42 hits and a .378 batting average adding a team leading 12 homeruns this season. Parker Loutensock has put in 48.0 innings of work as he has a 2.25 ERA lead the team. Tyler Deason has gone 36.1 innings on the bump, adding a team-leading five wins and a 2.72 ERA.

The Blue Raiders are 4-7 in their last 11 games against Campbellsville.
