CAUD Water Alerts: Boil Water advisory countywide

But Conserve Water request no longer necessary.

The Columbia Adair County Utilities District has repaired the 18" main water distribution line break yesterday, Thursday, April 19, 2018, leaving two important reminders this morning, Friday, April 20, 2018:
- 1) There is a Boil Water Advisory Adair County wide including the City of Coumbia
- 2) Conserve water no longer necessary: Water Main has been repaired. due to a Main Water break, which was repaired today and the conserve water request is no longer in effect.
Steps to take when any boil water advisory is issued follows


What to do when there is a boil water advisory When the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply a Boil Water Advisory is issued as a precautionary measure.

When such an event occurs:
Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using.
Advisories remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality.
