The temps are playing a role in getting the garden plants started early this year. Anything planted outside must be covered up to prevent the frost and freeze hurting the plants.

Several vendors have lettuce, kale, spinach ready for the market opening.

Fresh cabbage will be ready in a few more weeks, so it's important for FM2 customers to come and check the market out weekly to see what is there.

We are all looking forward to getting this 2018 season underway, so come out 8am-1pmCT, next Saturday, April 14, 2018, and see what Farmers Market on the Square, Corner of Campbellsville and Merchant Streets, Columbia, KY, has to offer and meet up with old and new friends. Donna Jones, the writer of this article, is President of the Adair County Garden Club and co-coordinator of Farmers Market on the Square.
