She united in marriage to Pete Nelson August 15, 1959 and he preceded her in death May 2, 1978. She later united in marriage to Claude Cobb July 15, 1989 and he preceded her in death February 26, 2005. Rita enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends; she never met a stranger.
