Duval Lorena Sidebottom Hay, Greensburg, KY (1923-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a longtime member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher for the Green County Board having taught for 36 years. She was a member the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the longest member of the Green County Homemakers Club. She united in marriage June 8, 1946 to Philip Hay, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1988.

Mrs. Duval Sidebottom Hay, age 94, of Greensburg, KY, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Lexington, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Duval Sidebottom Hay will be conducted at 11amCT, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens, Summersville, KY. Officiating clergy will be Dr. Robert Golden, Bro. Daniel Marcum, and Bro. Chuck Pollard. Visitation is requested from 5pmCT until 8pmCT, Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service.


Pallbearers: Don Sidebottom, Stacy Sidebottom, Larkin Sidebottom, Jonah Sidebottom, David Lewis Sidebottom, Tim Shuffett, James David Shuffett, Bill Shuffett, Doug Sidebottom, and Ed Rogers.

Mrs. Duval Sidebottom Hay, was born July 26, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Loy Sidebottom and Maudie Jones Sidebottom. She died Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 94 years, eight months, and three days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a longtime member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher for the Green County Board having taught for 36 years. She was a member the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the longest member of the Green County Homemakers Club.

She united in marriage June 8, 1946 to Philip Hay, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1988. She is survived by:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: Philip and Mitzi Hay of Campbellsville, KY

  • A daughter: Erna Hay of Lexington, KY

  • Two brothers: David Sidebottom and Jimmy Sidebottom both of Green County, KY

  • A special friend: Adriana Duque of Lexington, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
