George H. (Bobby) Brummett, Burkesville, KY/Adair Co. native (1941-2018)

He was a member of the Amandaville Christian Church, and had worked as an electrician for 52 years, and also worked at United Electric in Louisville, KY. and was a member of the United States Army from 1964-1968. He was a native of Adair County, KY, the son of the late James Clifton Brummett and Euria Riddle Hale. and a member of a prominent Cumberland County, KY family. His wife of over 31 years, Louise Grider Brummett, survives, as do many members of his large immediate and extended family in Cumberland, Adair, Bullitt, and Jefferson County, KY, and elsewhere. His final resting place will be in the family cemetery on Crocus Creek near Amandaville, KY.

Mr. George Henry "Bobby" Brummett, 76, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Burkesville, KY.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at 3pmCT, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkeville, KY,with Rev. Paul Patton and Rev. Joel Patton officiating. Burial will be in the Grider Family Cemetery on Crocus Creek in Cumberland County, KY. The family will receive friends after 3pmCT, Monday, March 26, 2018 until the funeral hour on Tuesday.

Mr. George Henry (Bobby) Brummett, Burkesville, KY (1941-2018)

He was born in Adair County, KY on Friday, May 9, 1941. He was the son of the late James Clifton Brummett and Euria Riddle Hale. He died Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

He was a member of the Amandaville Christian Church, worked as an Electrician for 52 years also having worked at United Electric in Louisville, KY, and was a member of the United States Army from 1964-1968.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Katherine Brummett; his sister Edith Irene Hall, his half brother Kenneth Wayne Hale, his half sister JoAnn Bearden; brothers-in-law, Yule Grider, Allen Grider, Shelly Grider, J.B. Grider, Homer Vernon "Tooter" Grider, John Kearns, Randy Gibson; sisters-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Grider, and Dorothy Grider. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Louise Grider Brummett. whom he wed on Saturday, May 24, 1986, and the following:
  • His sister: Lois Louise Drake of Louisville, KY

  • His two half sisters: Jackie Brummett, Brenda (and Gary) Fautz both of Louisville, KY

  • His two half brothers: Everett Jr. (and Lou Ann) Hale of Shepherdsville, KY; Larry (and Twana) Hale of Jeffersonville, IN

  • His three brothers-in-law: Albert (and Dimple) Grider of Columbia, KY, James Grider, Jessie (and Brenda) Grider both of Burkesville, KY

  • His three sisters-in-law: Margaret "Cricket" (and Porter) McCoy and Dottie Gibson both of Burkesville, KY; and Kathleen Kearns of Anderson, IN

  • Several nieces and nephews
