Harold E. (Hudge) Hudgins, Green County, KY (1935-2018)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and had been a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian church for 61 years, where he served as an Elder, Deacon and a choir member. He was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM, and a charter member of the Greensburg Country Club. He sang in the Community Cantata for 44 years. He was the oldest person in the Cantata. He was a KY Colonel. He was a Postal Clerk for 44 years. He was the widower of Larkie McGinnis Hudgins. He leaves 19 direct and three step living descendants.

Harold "Hudge" Hudgins, 84, departed this life Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services for Harold "Hudge" Hudgins will be 11amCT, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 729 Old Hodgenville Road, Greensburg, KY, with Rev. Matthew Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Greensburg Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Visitation will be from 3pm until 8pmCT, Monday and after 7amCTm Central Time Tuesday at the church.



Pallbearers: Ray Hudgins, David Hudgins, Mitchell Hudgins, Timmy Hudgins, Rod Moore and Howard Moore

Honorary pallbearers: All of Hudge's Grandchildren, Josh Gumm and Randy Colvin.

Harold "Hudge" Hudgins, Green County, KY (1935-2018)

Harold "Hudge" Hudgins was born December 4, 1935 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Carl and Bernice Holt Hudgins. He departed this life Friday, March 23, 2018 Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 82 years, three months and 19 days. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and had been a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian church for sixty-one years, where he served as an Elder, Deacon and a choir member. He was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM, a charter member of the Greensburg Country Club. He sang in the Community Cantata for forty-four years. He was the oldest person in the Cantata. He was a KY Colonel. He was a Postal Clerk for 44 years.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death July 1, 2017 by his loving wife Larkie McGinnis Hudgins. He is also preceded in death by one daughter: Paula Kessler, two brothers: Hulett Hudgins and Billy Joe "Louie" Hudgins and one step grandson: Cory Sprow.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Fran and Kevan Sprow of Campbellsville, KY

  • One step daughter-in-law: Tammy Sprow

  • Eleven great grandchildren

  • Special Friends: Martha Bardin, Howard and Ann Moore and Rod and Tracy Moore

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends.

    The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the Mary Kate Moore Scholarship Fund. These can be made at the church or at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
