The Puppy Pit allows for ACHS students' pre-exam stress relief By Linda Waggener To help relieve students' stress the day before ACT exams, the ACHS Student ambassadors partnered with GRAS for a Puppy Pit in front of the high school. As students went back and forth to lunch, they were given time to pet, walk and romp with dogs, all at the shelter and in need of homes. There were seven dogs in the ACHS Puppy Pit and students who were asked said, yes, the activity really does lower the stress of exam time. The high-stress test, ACT started out as the abbreviation of American College Testing, a standardized test meant to demonstrate a student's readiness for college admissions.
