LWC basketball wraps up regular season Sat at CU By Anthony Latessa The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's basketball teams wrap up the regular season Saturday at Mid-South Conference rival Campbellsville (KY). The action begins at 1pmCT when the No. 10-ranked women's team battles the No. 3-ranked Tigers at the Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY. Action continues at 3pmCT when the No. 9-ranked men's team battles Campbellsville. The Blue Raiders (24-9, 10-3 MSC) defeated Georgetown (Ky.) 93-68 on Thursday. Kayla Styles led the way for Lindsey Wilson setting the program record for points in a game with a career-high 45. She matched a career-high in field goals made with 15, was 13-of-15 from the charity stripe and grabbed 13 rebounds for her 17th double-double of the season. Teanna Curry set the program record for assists in a game with 15. Heidi Huffman was the only other Blue Raider in double figures with 21 points. Huffman connected on 7-of-14 shots from beyond the arc. Lindsey Wilson ranks first in the NAIA in total blocks with 153, second in three point field goal percentage defense (.229), blocks per game (5.3), third in field goal percentage defense (.334) and rebounds per game with 45.1. The Blue Raiders rank fifth in rebound margin (9.7) and 11th in scoring defense per game (56.7). Gerda Paulauskaite ranks first in blocks per game with 2.8 and total blocks (82). Styles ranks first in points per game (22.9) and seventh in rebounds per game with 10.8 The Tigers (25-4, 11-2 MSC) defeated Cumberland (Tenn.) 83-49 on Thursday. Campbellsville had two players in double figures led by Jordan Doram who scored a game-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field and had six rebounds. Madison Stewart added 12 points while Madison Clements chipped in with nine. Alexus Calhoun grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and Caitlin Hall recorded a game-high eight assists. The Tigers shot 47 percent and limited the Phoenix to just 26.8 percent from the field. Campbellsville outrrebounded Cumberland 49-23 and held a 38-18 edge in points in the paint. Campbellsville ranks first in the NAIA in steals per game (16.9) and total steals with 489. The Tigers rank second in turnover margin (8.3), third in scoring margin (19.6) and seventh in points per game with 79.3. Clements leads the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game. Saturday's matchup is the 72nd meeting between the two schools. Campbellsville holds 51-20 edge in the series and won the first meeting this season on Jan. 25 68-63. Styles scored 30 points in the game. The No. 9-ranked men's team (21-7, 6-7 MSC) fell to Georgetown 72-65 on Thursday. Lindsey Wilson had three players in double figures led by Charles Sutton who scored a game-high 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Nic Brown finished the game with 11 points and seven rebounds as Bryan Wallace added 11 points and four assists. The Blue Raiders shot 40.7 percent from the floor and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc. Lindsey Wilson ranks fifth in the NAIA in total steals (276), sixth in steals per game (9.9), eighth in blocks per game (4.2) and 11th in field goal percentage defense (.406). Wallace ranks first in steals with 88 and in steals per game (3.1) while Brown ranks fourth in total blocks. Campbellsville (20-9, 5-8 MSC) defeated Cumberland (Tenn.) 97-71 on Thursday. Jalen Cotes scored a game-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor as Andrew Smith added 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. The Tigers shot 53.4 percent from the floor including 47.6 percent from beyond the arc. Smith leads the team in scoring with 14.4 points per game and rebounds with 8 per game. Saturday's matchup is the 67th meeting between the two schools. Campbellsville holds a 37-29 edge in the series and won the first meeting this season on Jan. 25 67-65.
