LWC Wrestling competes at MSC Championship - Sat 17 Feb 2018

COLUMBIA, KY - (16 Feb 2018 - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team kicks off postseason action at 10amCT, Saturday, February 17, 2018 when they travel to Warren East High School, 6867 Louisville Road, Bowling Green, KY to compete in the Mid-South Conference Championship.



Chad Lampe (No. 15-ranked at 125 pounds), Brady Moser (No. 10 at 133), Lucas McCain, Cam Tessari (No.1 at 149), Bryce Hoffman (No. 18 at 157), Diorian Coleman (No. 3 at 165), Brett Bradford (No. 5 at 165), Colton Gonzalez (No. 8 at 174), Lucas Miozza, Corey Hinkle (No. 20 at 197) and Brandon Reed (No. 5 at heavyweight) are all scheduled to compete for the Blue Raiders.

The MSC Championship is comprised of all seven conference teams. In total, six nationally-ranked teams, including three featured in the top 10, are competing on Saturday. The individual field features 45 ranked wrestlers and the No. 1-ranked grapplers at 125, 133, 149, 157 and 184 pounds.

Based on its 45 ranked grapplers, the MSC is awarded 45 automatic bids spread over the 10 weight classes. The conference is also granted three wildcard spots into the national field. All 45 ranked wrestlers must compete during the conference championship in order to keep all of its automatic bids.

Complete brackets and seeding will be released Friday evening.

The top wrestler in each weight class receives First Team All-Conference accolades, while the second-best wrestler receives Second Team All-MSC honors.

Lindsey Wilson concluded the regular season with a 23-9 loss on Feb. 7. The Blue Raiders took three of 10 weight classes in the dual. Coleman, Gonzalez and Hinkle all produced decision victories for LWC.

The Blue Raiders won their first MSC Tournament championship in program history last season. LWC recorded 167.5 team points at the tournament as Cumberlands (KY) took second with 131.0 points and Life (Ga.) took third with 119.5 points.

Coleman and Tessari received First Team All-MSC Honors last season after they took first place in their respective weight classes.
