LWC Indoor Track & Field at MSC Championships Fri/Sat

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's indoor track and field teams compete at the Mid-South Conference Championships hosted by Capital University (Ohio) this Saturday, at 1 College and Main Columbus, Ohio.

On Friday field events begin with the men's and women's pole vaulting at 1:30pmCT with men's long jump, men's weight throw and women's high jump to follow at 4:30pmCT. Women's long jump, women's weight throw and men's high jump close out day one field events at 6:30pmCT.

Running events commence at 6pmCT with the men's 60m hurdles preliminary race. Only four events - the men's and women's 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles - feature preliminary rounds.


On Saturday field events and running events both start at 10amCT.

The top-two MSC placers of each event receive All Mid-South Conference accolades. The top conference finisher of an event is named First Team All-Conference, while the second-best conference competitor receives Second Team All-Conference honors.

The Blue Raiders last competed at the UIndy Team Invitational last Saturday where a trio of Blue Raiders collected wins on the day, while seven LWC athletes recorded a top-three finish along with three national standards.

Anthony Thompson recorded a first-place finish in the men's triple jump as Kevin Hallmon finished in fourth place during the 60 meter dash. The Blue Raiders finished in second and third place in the men's 600 meter run as Marcus Terrell finished in 1:26.46 and Andrew Morgan finished in 1:28.64. Pierre Ezanno took home a third-place finish in the triple jump.

On the women's side, Safia Bright added a first-place finish in the 60 meter dash as Oreatha Hurt took first place in the triple jump. Paige Pettell captured second place in the weight throw as Taylor Jones took home a third-place finish in the 1,000 meter run.

Live results will be available. The MSC Indoor Track and Field Championship begin on Friday at 1:30pmCT from Columbus, Ohio.
