Appalachian Musical Playground at ACPC

Click headline for article with photos.

By Laura Marcum, Music Teacher
Adair County Primary Center

Students at the Adair County Primary Center recently participated in an Appalachian Musical Playground. Students had been studying about the Appalachian Mountains, the people, instruments, and traditional dance styles.

During the Appalachian Playground, students were able to move around to different stations and play with musical spoons, a washboard, guitar, dulcimer, homemade bass, and a Limberjack doll. They also were able to examine a bear skin and try out flat-foot dancing. A good time was had by all!
