Power outage on 206 forces use of emergency power at Patty's

Patty Edwards reports that 'lectric went out on the Ridge just before 6amCT, Wednesday

By Ed Waggener/Patty Smith Edwards

Patty Edwards called a moment ago, at 6:13amCT, and said that power is off and has been off since just before 6amCT, on LibertyRoad/KY 206 from Vester, on out Liberty Road, to Bearwallow, Christine, and Purdy (may be greater area, she just can't confirm) from reports she's gotten at the store.

Momentarily, her Patty's Liberty Road General Store and Deli is out of hot coffee, but morning customers are finishing breakfast by an emergency entrance light with the help of headlights left on by a customer.

"We understand that Taylor County RECC is sending repairmen now. . . hope we're back up to speed soon," she said. "I'll keep you posted when lights come back on."

Dining by headlight and emergency lighting continued through the current power outage on KY 206, which Patty Edwards reports this morning, extends from Vester to Bearwallow/Christine, and all the way to Purdy. "We are in the dark, but emergency lights and customers' headlights give enough light to serve what's available," Patty writes.
