CU opens Tiger Health Clinic, open house is Feb. 8, 2018 By Josh Christian, student news writer CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University has partnered with Taylor Regional Hospital Care Center to open the Tiger Health Clinic. There will be an open house at the Tiger Health Clinic at 522 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky., on Campbellsville University's campus Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 from 12noonET to 2pmET The Tiger Health Clinic will be open to all Campbellsville University students, faculty, coaches and staff, according to Ann E. Dabney, director of public relations and physician recruitment for Taylor Regional Hospital. The Tiger Health Clinic will be open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10amET until 7pmET. The clinic is closed for lunch from 12noonET to 1pmET. "The clinic was created to further our outreach into the community, providing greater access to care to Campbellsville University students, faculty, staff and coaches," Dabney said. Jane Wheatley, chief executive officer of Taylor Regional Hospital who serves as a trustee for Campbellsville University, said, "We are proud to partner with Campbellsville University to provide healthcare for their students and faculty. We appreciate our close relationship with the university, and look forward to grow that relationship in the future." "Our overall mission is to promote health, wellness and safety among Campbellsville University students and the community we serve," said Melony K. Cundiff, APRN, who holds a master of science in nursing from Western Kentucky University, and is a provider at Tiger Health Clinic. Cundiff said the clinic will be full service, offering a "variety of in-office lab tests," and also providing "venipuncture lab work that needs to be processed through the lab at Taylor Regional Hospital Care Center." The Tiger Health Clinic also provides a variety of health services including: women's health services (including exams), simple wound and laceration closure or suturing and sports physicals. Some of the in-office lab tests include tests for influenza, strep, mono, pregnancy, blood sugar, urinalysis and wound culture and sensitivity. Common conditions and illnesses treated at the Tiger Health Clinic include: abdominal pain/acid reflux, acne, impetigo, allergies (seasonal and reactions), asthma/ chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, cough/cold/flu, ear pain/ infection, eye pain/pink eye, headache, head lice/scabies/bed bugs, insect bites/stings, mononucleosis, nausea/vomiting (stomach virus), rashes (eczema, poison ivy, hives, psoriasis, ringworm and shingles), sore throat/strep throat, upper respiratory infection and urinary tract infections. The clinic will accept cash, credit, debit and most insurance plans in the form of payment. "We accept most insurance plans. We recommend contacting your insurance company prior to your visit to verify coverage for the service you are seeking. Your payment responsibility may vary based on your insurance coverage," Dabney said. A copy of an insurance card, proof of identification and a valid form of payment at the time of service are needed prior to visit. "The Taylor Regional Hospital Care Center has provided our community with quality and compassionate health care though our providers. In keeping with this tradition of serving our community, we are pleased to announce through a partnership with Campbellsville University, Tiger Health Clinic," Dabney said.
