Betty Jo Coffey Phillips, 80, Adair County, KY (1938-2018) She was a teacher in the Adair County School System for over 40 years. She taught in one room schools and at Knifley and Shepherd Grade Centers. She was a graduate of Campbellsville College and received her Masters Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a member of the Kentucky Education Association and the Taylor Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Betty was very active in the Adair County and Taylor County Homemakers Clubs. She was a native of Louisville, KY, and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of her death here. She was the daughter of the late Fred Warren & Ada B. Workman Coffey. Ed Loy. Interment will follow in Pellyton Cemetery, 100 Pellyton East Road, Pellyton (Adair County) KY. The family requests visitation after 3pmCT Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the funeral home. She died Monday, January 29, 2018, at the age of 80 years, five days. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Phillips on January 9, 1981. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Tabernacle Christian Church and attended the Campbellsville Christian Church for many years. She was a teacher in the Adair County School System for over 40 years.
