Chris Jessie updates on road conditions, Elizabethtown area By Chris Jessie, Public Information Officer KY Transportation Cabinet District 4, Elizabethtown, KY ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (Mon 8 Jan 2018. 5:56amCT) - While most road surfaces are wet there are still icy patches on various routes through District 4 counties. Over the past couple of hours, there are reports of incidents on KY 313 between Radcliff and I65 along with Bluegrass Parkway and US 62 between Elizabethtown and Bardstown. Residual treatments from last week and spot treatments from crews have helped keep many routes from freezing. As mentioned in the advisory before this weather event, motorists should realize current visual observation can be deceptive with respect to determining ice versus wet pavement. Areas particularly at risk are low lying stretches and northward facing hills. Please slow down and plan travel accordingly over the next couple of hours as temperatures continue to rise.
