Pedestrian/driver commends two Adair School bus drivers Drivers showed concern for writer's & sister's safety Click on headline for complete story By Sandy Evert While downtown yesterday my sister and I had the privilege of encountering two of our school bus drivers: Mr. Jerry Powell, bus #12 and Mr. Steve Foster, bus #8. I know their names this morning after calling Mr. David Jones at the transportation department to give an account of their stellar performance yesterday. As my sister and I crossed the street from the clerk's office, Mr. Powell was approaching the square. He slowed down and stopped to let us cross the street, and then actually waited for us to get into our car before proceeding through the square! Mr. Foster came along and noticed us waiting to pull out of our parking space and also stopped, and then waved us on to go through the roundabout on the square first! While this note may be a little long, it is absolutely not short on thanking these two men for their outstanding performance yesterday on a cold afternoon. Their obvious care and concern toward both Adair County students and citizens is remarkable! Thank you both! - Sandy Evert This story was posted on 2018-01-04 08:48:09
