Nora Lee Minor, Taylor County, KY (1927-2017)

She was noteworthy business leader on the Campbellsville retail scene for many years as the owner and operator of Minor's Jeans. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Acton Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Tom Edelen & Maude Murray Edelen, and the widow of Hanley Minor, her husband of over 48 years. She leaves 26 direct living descendants spanning four generations.

Nora Lee Minor, 90, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 7:10amET, Friday, December 29, 2017 in Campbellsville.

The funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. John Batcher. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 9amCT/10amET,, Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Nora Lee Minor was the daughter of the late Tom Edelen & Maude Murray Edelen. She was born September 27, 1927 in Taylor County, KY. She died Friday, December 29, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 90 years, three months, and 2 days.br>
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Acton Baptist Church.

Nora Lee was the retired owner and operator of Minor's Jeans in Campbellsville for several years.

She united in marriage to Hanley Minor February 21, 1942 and he preceded her in death February 24, 1991.

She is survived by:
  • Three daughters: Maxine White & husband, Willie; Connie White & husband, Ronnie; and Brenda Watson and husband, Doug; all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two daughters-in-law: Della Minor and Kathy Gilpin

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • Two great-great-grandchildren

  • One brother and four sisters: Howard Edelen, Pearl Blevins, Barbara Powell, and Joyce Davis, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Bernice Benningfield of Jefferson County, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Louise Smothers of Mannsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by two sons: Kenneth Minor May 9, 2011 and Paul Minor June 2, 1991 and one brother and two sisters: Wesley Edelen, Wilma Edelen and Lola Nell Hickey.
