By Jaime White, Adair Unit Chair, Salvation Army

The Adair County Unit of the Salvation Army sends thanks to our community for all the donations and support this Christmas season. Because of your kindness, we were able to serve almost 400 children through the Angel Tree program! We appreciate our many volunteers and always welcome more.

The Adair County Service Unit was established in 1997. The Unit is governed by a board of volunteers. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 9amCT, at the Adair County 911 Center, 107 N High Street, Columbia, KY. Any interested person is invited to attend and become a part of the Unit.

Some services provided by the local Unit are: Christmas Assistance for children, Summer Camp opportunities for youth, support of local food ministries, collaboration with local schools through the Family Resource Youth Services Centers, disaster and emergency assistance and welfare assistance.

Our mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Again, thank you, Adair County! Jaime White, Adair Unit Chairm Salvation Army
