Julia Marie White Pierce, 81, Green Co., KY native (1936-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ as a child and lived out her faith in many ways, but especially as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born in Green County, KY, and was a resident of Bullitt County, KY, at the time of her death. She was a member of highly regarded Green County, KY family, the daughter of the late William "Joe" White & Nora Catherine Davenport White. Her husband of almost 62 years, Clay Wood Pierce, survives. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Julia Marie White Pierce, 81, of Shepherdsville, KY, formerly of Georgia, departed this life on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Norton Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12noonCT Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church in Green County, KY, with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, in the Grab Community of Green County, KY. Bro. Micah Carr of Peachtree Baptist Church in Byron, GA, officiating. Visitation is requested after 10amCT Wednesday at the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers are: Joshua Tucker, Brandon Anderson, Daniel Tucker, Shelby Bowen, Jason Bonta and Bobby Cundiff.

Julia Marie White Pierce of Shepherdsville, KY was the daughter of the late Johnny William "Joe" White & Nora Catherine Davenport White. She was born on Saturday, May 16, 1936 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was 81 years and 7 months of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ as a child and lived out her faith in many ways, but especially as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by
  • Her husband of almost 62 years, Clay Wood Pierce of Shepherdsville, KY, having united in marriage on December 24, 1955.

  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Doug Tucker of Shepherdsville, KY; Donna and Bill Anderson of Macon, GA; and Susan and Chris Baroni of Warner Robins, GA;

  • Six grandchildren: Joshua Douglas Tucker, Brandon James Anderson, Daniel Schuyler Tucker, Shelby Clay Bowen, Laura Elizabeth Anderson, Samantha Paige Bowen

  • One great-grandchild: Beau Douglas Tucker

  • Three sisters and a brother: Mable Davis, Betty Sue Bonta, Kay Bonta, and Wallace White all of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Pierce was also preceded in death by a sister: Polly Lobb.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Peachtree Baptist Church or Samaritan's Purse, which can be made at the funeral home. Send condolences to the family.
