Robert Fred Phelps, 66, Adair Co., KY/Pulaski Co., KY native (1951-2017)

He was a retired Line Foreman for South Kentucky RECC and of the Baptist faith. He was a loving father and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed watching U.K. basketball. He was born in Pulaski County, KY. He was a member of a highly regarded family, the son of the late Jamie Phelps & Thelma Harrington Phelps. He leaves 11 direct living descendants, and many close relatives in Adair, Pulaski and Taylor Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere.

Robert Fred Phelps, age 66, of Columbia, KY, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at T.J. Health in Columbia, KY.

Visitation will be on 4pm-6pmCT/5pm-7pmET, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY. A Celebration of Life Service will follow on Wednesday at 6pmCT/7pmET, at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ted Phillips officiating.



Robert Fred Phelps, 66, Adair County, KY (1951-2017)


Robert was born on January 26, 1951 in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY. He was the son of the late Jamie Phelps & Thelma Harrington Phelps. He died Friday, December 15, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 19 days.

He was a retired Line Foreman for South Kentucky RECC and of the Baptist faith. Robert was a loving father and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed watching U.K. Basketball.

Robert is survived by:
  • Two sons: Jamie (and Tammy) Phelps of Columbia, KY; and Ryan (and Joianna) Phelps of Marion, IL

  • Two daughters, Monica (and Kevin) Burton of Somerset, KY; and Kayla (and Josh) Palmer of Louisville, KY

  • Two brothers: Harvey (and Dorothy) Phelps of Somerset, KY; and Joe (and Kathy) Phelps of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sisters: Krista Kay Keeney of Somerset, KY; and Patsy (and Charlie) Crowe of Columbia, KY

  • And seven grandchildren: Peyton Phelps, Lydia Phelps, Arraya Phelps, Jerrod Phelps, Reagan Phelps, Braxton Burton and Abella Phelps.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Lewis Phelps, Rocky Phelps, and Ronnie Phelps.
