Mr. Joseph M. Jones, 88, departed this life Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Campbellsville, KY.

The Funeral service will be at Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 699 Old Hodgenville Road, Greensburg, KY, at 2pmCT, Monday, December 18, 2017. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, December 17, 2017, and 7am-9amCT, Monday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, and from 10amCT until the funeral hour Monday, at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Greensburg Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY.


Pallbearers: Andrew Reed Jones, Taylor Linebaugh Jones, Tom Jones, Ann Drury, Amanda Clark, Joe Gordon Shuffett, Julianne Moore and Rod Moore

Mr. Joseph M. Jones was born June 13, 1929 in Garfield, Breckinridge County, KY. He was the son of the late Veachel Andrew & Elizabeth Lambirth Jones. He departed this life Friday, December 15, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 88 years, six months and two days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired clergyman. He was also a funeral director and former co-owner of the Foster and Jones Funeral Home in Greensburg. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and a sister-in-law: Thomas Logan Jones, Emery and Ava Jones and Ruth Jones.

He is survived by:
  • His wife: Peggy Moore Jones

  • one son and daughter-in-law: Byron and Lynn Linebaugh Jones

  • One daughter: Dana Jones, of Nashville, TN

  • Two sisters-in-law: Shelly Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; and Helen Clark of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Andrew Reed Jones of Austin, TX; and Taylor Linebaugh Jones of Nashville, TN

  • Nephew: Thomas Emery Jones of Greensburg, KY

  • Niece: Ann Myra Drury of Texas

  • And several other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
