By Christopher Coombs COLUMBIA, KY (Fri 15 Dec 2017) - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team opened up the Lindsey Wilson Christmas Classic with a 107-36 victory over Toccoa Falls (GA) Friday night at Biggers Sports Center. Five Blue Raiders (13-0) were in double figures as Kel Stotts led the way scoring 23 points as he added a career-high six steals. Bryan Wallace finished just behind with 22 points as he tied a program record with seven steals and added seven assists. Charles Sutton finished the game with 18, Nic Brown recorded 14 and Can Oztamur was the last Blue Raider in double-figures with 11 points. Lindsey Wilson shot 55.8 percent from the field and limited the Screaming Eagles to a 28.0 shooting percentage from the field. The Blue Raiders controlled the battle in the paint outscoring Toccoa Falls 68-12. Lindsey Wilson also won the turnover battle as they forced 36 while only committing eight and added 24 steals to Toccoa Falls' zero. The 24 steals were a season-high and one shy of tying the program record. LWC jumped out to an early 12-0 lead in the first half. The Blue Raiders then went on a 21-5 run to increase their lead to 28 with 8:25 left in the half. Lindsey Wilson led 51-14 at the break as they shot 54.1 percent from the floor. In the second half the Blue Raiders used an early 14-2 run to increase their lead to 65-16 with over 16 minutes left in the half before pulling away for the 107-34 victory. Lindsey Wilson shot 57.7 percent from the field. Kevin Cave scored a team-high 13 points for the Screaming Eagles. - Christopher Coombs, writer, LWC Athletics.
