Leon Robert Shelby, Jr, Taylor Co., KY/Shiawasse Co., MI native (1924-2017) He was retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was an avid fisherman, loved travel and photography. He was a native of Owosso, MI, and a resident of Campbellsville, KY, at the time of his death here. He was the son of the late Leon R. Shelby, Sr & Elizabeth Parker Shelby, and the widower of Dollie Jean Ellis Shelby. At the request of Mr. Shelby, cremation rites were honored by L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan. Shelby, Sr & Elizabeth Parker Shelby, was born April 5, 1924 in Owosso, Shiawassee County, MI. He died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY at the age of 93 years, eight months, and seven days. He was retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was an avid fisherman, loved travel and photography.
